Multi-Family Truss Designer

Located in Pflugerville, Texas, (Austin Proper) Buffalo Framing and Truss offers trusses direct and through turnkey framing packages to GC’s and production based national home builders. At Buffalo you will experience growth and expansion that offers a long-term career with flexibility and advancement. We are adding multifamily designers and residential designers to our current team-orientated design staff. In-house design positions are available (remote designers are available with enough experience).

Area of Interest: Design, Engineering, Drafting, CAD

Primary Responsibilities

• Design open web floor/roof trusses with MiTek engineering software
• Prepare floor/roof layouts per architectural and structural plans and specifications
• Prepare pricing/estimating data upon request without full design
• Discuss changes and corrections/repairs with engineers, architects, and construction team during shop drawing phase
• Complete and submit engineered wood product and hanger lists for buyout
• Review layouts and shipping files for accuracy
• Troubleshoot and help resolve plan discrepancies or inefficiencies
• Customer service support through the construction phase

Qualifications

• Associate’s (AA) degree from two-year college or technical school and two years’ related experience designing trusses
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products, Auto CAD, and other design related programs.
• Previous experience with MiTek preferred
• Working knowledge of framing, blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents
• Professionally communicate and interact with customers, colleagues, and co-workers
